PORTUGAL

I didn't spend too much time in Portugal. Things develop a little slower there than its sister European nations. From the places I did go, the old charm is everywhere to remind me of the bygone opulence Portugal used to possess.
It was a pity that I didn't have a chance to listen to fado when I was in Lisbon. Instead, I went to several fado concerts here in Boston to make up my regret. Everyone should listen to Fado once if they want to have a glimpse of the Portuguese culture. The longing, the sadness are very much part of the Portuguese existence.
